Celebrating 55 years’ trading in the UK
This month marks 55 years of trading in the UK for Mabanaft. The limited company was incorporated on the 13th of March in 1964 by Marquard and Bahls to import petroleum products and lubricants into the UK and sell them on to independent processors and major oil companies.
We have come a very long way since that day. Mabanaft is now one of the UK’s largest independent wholesalers, supplying over 2 billion litres of refined petroleum products a year to independent distributors, retailers, commercial airlines, supermarkets, and commercial and industrial businesses throughout the UK.
Strength in numbers
We remain committed to ensuring customers an excellent supply of high quality fuels at competitive prices. Our parent company Marquard and Bahls is a leading independent petroleum company with interests in 36 countries. Being part of a wider group gives us both the strength and expertise to ensure ongoing reliability of supply, and the purchasing power to negotiate the best possible fuel prices for our customers.
Our product range now includes petrol, diesel, fame, kerosene, jet A-1, ultra-low sulphur gas oil - all of which either meet or exceed U.K. specifications. Our experienced supply and operations team works closely with marketing to proactively manage stock holdings and ensure product is available to meet demand, while our network of strategically located terminals allows us to supply clients throughout the UK. In our last survey 97% of customers rated our reliability of supply as ‘good or excellent’.
exciting new developments
Having an agile business structure has enabled Mabanaft to adapt to market conditions and respond quickly to customers’ needs. This, together with our stringent risk management and a strong focus on physical trading, has enabled the company to achieve substantial growth. Investments have recently been made to consolidate our position as a provider of jet aviation fuel in the UK, and we hope to announce more exciting new developments in the coming months. All in all, the future looks very positive for Mabanaft in the UK.
